That’s because people can live int steamboats!

They work in places like Chicago, New York, Australia, or any other location as long as there is access to the internet and cell phone coverage. Since they have the flexibility to live anywhere they choose, they pick Steamboat Springs.

Living in a resort town is fun and it’s a good arrangement for the workers and for Steamboat Springs. The quality of life and the excellent schools are not to be ignored because its one of the things workers love about Steamboat Springs. Workers do work but then it’s almost like being on vacation every day. Year round.

Colorado is great for retirement according to some people. But why wait until you reach the age of 60 when you can appreciate and ski the slopes at 29?

Neutral workers are great for Steamboat because it creates a stable community. Tax revenue is also increased. $35 million is the estimated contribution of Steamboat’s location neutral workers to the Steamboat Springs economy and also generates $600,000 in Steamboat sales tax revenue.

Location neutral workers stabilize a community. They aren’t second homeowners (even though a lot of them start out that way.) They are involved in the community through Rotary, SCORE, the schools, and community boards.

Before, Steamboat was seen as Steamboat. If you didn’t have any of the convenience of technology, chances are, you probably won’t have seen Steamboat Springs. But now, Steamboat Springs became a destination town only with the advent of technology. The internet, email and blackberries have made major changes with the way this place is viewed.
